Although the bezels are noticeably thinner and the  capacitive buttons below the screen are missing. The front speaker grill  is still there, but most of the real estate on the front has been  occupied by the display. The screenshot also shows on-screen Android  navigation buttons.<br /> Other alleged features of the phone include a Snapdragon 800  processor, 5 inch 1080p display, dual UltraPixel cameras and Android 4.4  KitKat skinned with Sense 6. What remains to be seen is if these will  be enough to take on the Galaxy S5,  which according to the early rumors, looks like a much better spec’d  phone. The  appointment takes effect immediately, so Steve Balmer can go into an  earlier than anticipated retirement.<br /> A quick background check on Nadella tells that he joined Microsoft 22  years ago from Sun Microsystems. Having his roots based in India,  Nadella moved to the US to study computer science at the University of  Wisconsin. At Microsoft, Satya has worked on cloud and enterprise  business. He has played an active role in taking Office to the cloud.<br /> As the newly appointed CEO, Satya has lots of challenges and tasks to  complete. The first of them would be to transform Microsoft from a  software focused company to a device and services and software centric  one. This would include the Xbox business and the newly acquired handset  business from Nokia. Also, Satya would be facing the task of increasing  Microsoft’s presence in the smartphone and tablet business, where it  still holds next to nothing market share when compared to the biggies.<br /> But he won’t be alone in facing these hurdles, since the company  founder Bill Gates will take the role of Founder and Technology Advisor,  to help Nadella take the company in the right direction. </div>

Apple hasn’t revealed the 5s, 5c breakdown, but has admitted the sales  of the latter have been somewhat disappointing. Still the numbers prove  that the company won’t be just swept away with the green wave and can  hold its ground pretty well even in tough competition.<br />Apple also managed to ship 26 million iPads in the same period, which  is again an all time high figure. More good news came from Mac sales,  whihc reached 4.8 million in the quarter. Although, the iPod sales were  down 55 percent year on year.<br />Still it was a positive picture on the whole for the Cupertino giant,  with net revenues of $57.6 billion. The profit was relatively flat  at $13.1 billion. The overall profits for the same period stood at $7.8  billion, which is down 18 percent QoQ. Although the lower than expected  profits had nothing to do with the weakening demand. instead, Samsung  has stated that it sold record tablets in the last quarter. It’s tablet  sales have nearly doubled from the last year, while the mobile sales are  still strong (even after they took a little dip from last quarter). The  mobile division’s overall revenue was down to close to $32 billion and  the net profits off that were again down to $5.09 billion.<br /> One reason for the drop in revenue was the one time cost that came  with Samsung paying bonuses to close to its 254,000 employees worldwide  to mark the 20th anniversary since the new CEO stepped in and changed  thing around in the company. Also, the company spent a considerable  amount this quarter on marketing and advertising. Going forward, Samsung  expects stiff competition in the mobile segment. Moreover, the NSA can reportedly hack a  wireless network from eight miles away. Digital activist and security  researcher Jacob Appelbaum claimed he had seen documents indicating the  US National Security Agency (NSA) could hack into Wi-Fi connections from  8 miles away. That was way back in 2007.<br />In Der Spiegel,  Appelbaum had disclosed information on the NSA’s Tailored Access  Operations unit.
