Windows Phone has been playing catchup in terms of the number of apps on its store largely due to it being the newest platform out there. However, with more apps going live than on any other platform, you’re bound to find everything you need.
These are apps that aren’t exclusive to Nokia Lumia, so if you own a Samsung or HTC Windows Phone 8 smartphone you’ll be able to take advantage of them as much as you will if you own a Nokia Lumia.

With Instagram you can take photos and document your life. With the built-in filters you can turn them into works of art and share them with your friends. You can take a photo using your Nokia Lumia, or grab one you’ve already taken and stored in the Photo Hub, add a filter, a border and a host of other effects and then share with friends. This wouldn’t be a Windows Phone app if it didn’t come with unique Live Tile support, allowing you to see at a glance the latest status updates, as well as offer fast-resume.

Vine Windows Phone App

In a little over 12 months, Vine has clocked up over 40 million users, making it one of the fastest growing social media groups out there. You can simply record footage, or use the built-in animator to create stunning stop-frame movies, which are hugely popular with the Vine community. You can use the rear or front-facing camera on your Nokia Lumia and then share the results with Vine, Twitter or Facebook.

LINE Windows Phone App

You may not have heard of it, but LINE already has more than 280 million users worldwide, and is used across 231 countries. It’s perfectly positioned to launch an all-out communication assault on the likes of WhatsApp, Kik Messenger, Viber, and even Skype. It automatically populates its contacts list based on your existing phone contacts. If someone on your People list uses LINE, you’ll know about it once you’ve booted up the app, inserted your phone number and verified your account!
